choreographer, dancer, theatre practitioner, pedagogue
Gregor Luštek (1973, Novo mesto) studied at the Faculty of Sports in Ljubljana. He is trained in a variety of dance techniques, from classical ballet to contact improvisation. His artistic expression is based on soft and athletic movement, taking anatomical structure of the body as a basis for kinetic decision-making.
Gregor works as a freelance dancer, choreographer and assistant director, occasionally also as an actor. He has worked with many acclaimed choreographers and dance artists at home and abroad as well as with a number of theatre directors. He has received many awards for his work with choreographer and dancer Rosana Hribar in Slovenia (Prešeren Fund Award, Župančič Award, Trdina Award) and abroad.
With over 20 years of teaching experience, Gregor has taught at countless seminars and workshops at home and internationally. He is teaching creative workshops at the Alma Mater Europaea Dance Academy in Ljubljana. Since 2016, he has been working as a choreographer, pedagogue and professional associate with the Exodos Ljubljana in various international projects: Cradle, Share, One Space, China–CEEC/Summer dance camp.
In his work he is following the maxim: the body speaks, it needs to be listened to.
