Kristina Aleksova (1984, Ljubljana) finished her ballet training at the Ljubljana Ballet and Music Conservatory and went on to become a member of the ballet ensemble in the Slovene National Theatre Opera and Ballet Ljubljana and later also in Opera Graz in Austria. In the Ljubljana ballet ensemble, she danced in numerous performances, also as a soloist, and choreographed two of her own performances: Children from the edge of reality and How deep is your (w)hole (with Živa Petrič).
She has worked with different pedagogues, choreographers and directors in institutional and non-institutional settings. In 2017, she left the Ljubljana ensemble and started working freelance in the area of performing arts and contemporary dance. A regular member of the VN Lab, she has created several independent projects, among them The Heart, a solo performance that can take the form of a 3-day event or a 60-minute extract, which was shown at numerous venues in Ljubljana and Slovenia. Kristina is also a member of the Hupa Brajdič creative collective.
She teaches ballet at the Practicum (Emanat / Pre-School Education and Grammar School Ljubljana), the Alma Mater Europaea Dance Academy and in dance studio Intakt in Ljubljana.
