Nastja Bremec Rynia (1986, Nova Gorica), recipient of many dance awards, started dancing classical ballet and contemporary dance at the age of six. At the age of fifteen she appeared in the leading role in the ballet performance Snow White. After finishing contemporary dance programme at the Pre-school Education, Grammar and Art Grammar School in Ljubljana, she was granted a scholarship by Italian choreographers Mauro Astolfi and Erika Silgoner to join their dance ensembles (Spellbound Dance Company and Esklan). After training in Rome for six months she passed the audition at the Rotterdam Dance Academy CODART and was admitted directly in the third year of the studies among 900 candidates from across the world. She graduated from CODART in 2008.

While living in the Netherlands Nastja worked with choreographers such as Nacho Duato, Mauro Bigonzeti, Michele Poglini, Neel Veerdorn, Jerome Meyer and Isabelle Chaffaud, and was a member of the Scapino Ballet Rotterdam. Her work has been supported by major production houses such as Korzo Theater Den Haag and Teater Lantaren Venster Rotterdam, which also produced her first miniatures Made in Rotterdam and evening-length performances Dust in the Wind and The Myth.

In 2009 she founded MN Dance Company together with dancer and choreographer Michal Rynia. Calling their dance style ‘contemporary fusion’, they create dance performances as well as dance miniatures, which they regularly present at choreography competitions. Among other, they created a choreography for an evening of dance titled Classical Ballet and Tango at the Slovenian National Theatre Opera and Ballet Ljubljana.

Nastja works regularly as choreographer and movement advisor at the Slovene National Theatre Nova Gorica. She has been working freelance since 2011 and teaching dance and choreography at the Slovene Dance Academy Alma Mater Europaea since 2018.
